Many people these days have millions of isk worth of implants in their skull.
I see this as a problem - they are not removeable without loss - This means that anyone with them may decide it isnt worth heading to dangerous space, do PVP or have fun exploring etc as it isnt worth the risk.
There needs to be a way of removing implants with a smaller risk, anyone who hasnt got a lot of money isnt going to want to lose 50m worth of implants.
What if you could remove implants at a cloning facility, for say, 1 million a pop. This would prevent peoplepulling them in and out a lot and would help those who want to take them out and have fun for a while.
are CCP going to do anything about this in the near future?

Quote: Simple solution:
Don't put them in.
Jebus, if you're so damn worried about losing what's in your skull DON'T USE IMPLANTS. Don't buy them. If you get them from an agent, just sell them. But if you want faster training times, it comes at a price:
Risk
Thats a load of crap though. People have them they will use them. with them in they have MUCH better training times, lots of people have them from agents so just plug them in - they havent actually paid for them. People who DO pay for them can afford them so they probably arent as concerned about losing them.

No its not like losing a ship really is it. you can insure them as well.
Anyways, its a problem because players dont have as much fun = less reason to keep playing the game..
You can do anything you like with your ships, you can remove valuable modules if you think you will die, you can insure you ship, you cannot do anything about 50m of implants. This is flawed, regardless of whether or not you can afford to use them.
People who DONT have a lot of money, think implants are a good idea - they are for new players they can get a useable character much faster, then they realise oh ****, i dont want to lose these and stay in secure space.
Do you want people to stick to secure space, or go to 0.0 more often ? more fights, more fun, CCP gets more people enjoying the game.
just because YOU can afford them doesnt mean everyone can.

The whole implants thing is like tying a great big rock to people, they dont want to leave empire.
They dont mind losing there ship, they can insure that they can have a lot of fun with it and be able to replace it relatively easily.
Implants, well, who flys a 65m battleship in 0.0 without insuring it, and wants to do PVP? You tell me.

its not about you Jash. its about implants preventing people from having fun in the game.
Whether or not they should have them or not is a moot point really.
And if you can have fun with a full set of implants without being scared of losing them - good for you - but there are people who wont take the risks.

Good post.
Lets just have a look at this objectively.
Many People that use implants dont want to die. This means they may not be having as much fun as they should.
Right, so what can be done here. Ok, unplugging them at a 1m cost isnt a particually good method as you have pointed out.
I Agree there should be a risk in dying - But you can insure your ship, you lose all the equip and stuff but you do get money back.
Should implants have a similar system, or another "fairer" system in which you still lose out when you die but not to such a high extent.
If not, well ok but there will be people who arent havign the fun they should be having. I would like to know CCPs stance on this.
